| Dance Forms
Entries will be accepted in the following
categories:
JAZZ: Routine consists
of jazz technique. Gymnastic/acro tricks must not
exceed 3. These tricks are defined as any in which the
feet pass
over the head or vice-versa.
TAP: Routine consists
of tap technique. The use of pre-recorded tap
sounds is not permitted.
BALLET: Routine consists
of ballet technique and classical movements & danced
on demi-pointe.
LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY:
Routine incorporates the lyrical style. Form of dance
is based on interpretation.
MODERN: Routine consists
of modern technique either abstract or contemporary.
ACRO: Routine consists
of dance and gymnastic techniques.
POINTE: Routine consists
of ballet technique with the use of pointe shoes.
MUSICAL THEATRE/SONG & DANCE:
Characterization through lip synch,
live vocals or mime.
DEMI-CHARACTER: Routine
incorporates ballet technique, the portrayal of
a character and storyline.
HIP HOP:
Free style choreography, includes street, break, crump, etc.
OPEN: Any type of dance
may be entered in this category. Teachers who are
unsure of a category for a particular routine may place
it here. |
